Event Entertainment Ltd is a company that has its origins from companies controlled by the late Mr Joe Brown.His “Saturday Night Town Hall Dance” in Dunedin was established in the 1940’s and broadcast live on radio around New Zealand. This lead to his “search for the stars” national talent quest’s during the 1950’s and early 1960’s.

 

Widely regarded as the founder of light entertainment in New Zealand, Mr. Joe Brown had a career spanning over 50 years in the entertainment and entrepreneurial business. Today Joe Brown’s son Dennis and grandson Lee continue his Legacy by attracting world leading stage shows to New Zealand, Delighting crowds young and old.

 

Joe introduced “Miss New Zealand” Beauty Pageants as well as conducting concert tours of local artists including Howard Morrison Quartlet, John grenell, Eddie Low, Suzanne Prentice and Peter Rosa. He also attracted many international acts that included Victor Borge, Tom Jones, Glen Cambell, Kenny Rogers, Charley Pride, Donny & Marie Osmond and Nana Mouskouri. These are but a few of the many concert attractions he promoted up until his death in 1986.

 

Recently Event Entertainment Ltd has hosted such fine acts as Take Me Home – The Music & Life of John Denver, Charlie Pride, The Ten Tenors, The Irish Rovers, Cirque Dreams, Gary Mullin – One Night Of Queen, Legends Unleashed, Isla Grant, Mary Duff, and The Imperial Russian Ballet Company – Swan Lake / The Nutcracker / Cinderella / Romeo & Juliet / Festival of Russian Ballet.
